4-H Vet Med Science Short Course: Mini one-day camp for 4H students from rural communities interested in going into veterinary medicine. Hands-on activities led by faculty and clinicians, plus a school tour.
4-H Roundup: The Oklahoma State 4-H Roundup is an annual gathering of youth from across the state who engage in educational workshops, competitions, and activities. The Roundup promotes personal growth, leadership, and skill-building for 4-H members.
8th Grade Discovery Day: 200-300 8th graders from surrounding Payne and Logan County schools can explore career possibilities at this hands-on learning event by interacting with area businesses and colleges.
Adventures in Agriculture: The National Cowboy & Western Museum hosts an event where Students explore agriculture-related organizations and discover science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)- related career pathways.
Agriculture in the Classroom: Oklahoma Ag in the Classroom is a program of the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, the Oklahoma State Department of Education, and the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service.
Agrikids Camp: EPOS empowers students through agricultural education, fostering premier leadership, personal growth, and career success.
Cowboy 1st: An event geared toward students who will be the first in their family to attend college. They hear from current first-generation students, learn about support services, and make connections that will set you up for success during your time at Oklahoma State.
ExpOSUre: A Livestock Docs event at the Tulsa and Oklahoma State Fair. Nearly 40 participants had the opportunity to be livestock veterinarians for a day. Participants of all ages gained hands-on experience with vaccine mixing, injections, calf pulling, ruminant tail tying, equine leg wrapping, and equine physical examinations
First Nations Day: Native American prospective students visit Oklahoma State University to connect with current OSU students, hear from OSU’s Center for Sovereign Nations, and celebrate Native American Heritage and culture.
OSU-CVM Open House: This is the largest event the OSU-CVM hosts. The CVM opens its doors to our veterinary facilities for general tours, admissions presentations, animal-related vendors, games, animal demonstrations, and science-related seminars.
State FFA CDE Competition: The OSU-CVM has hosted the state FFA Competition for the past 6+ years. The veterinary science career development event aims to promote college and career readiness by providing opportunities to develop technical knowledge and demonstrate practical skills in the field of veterinary science.
Youth Medical Mentorship: YMM is built to be a bridge for youth from communities traditionally underrepresented in healthcare to excel in the spaces and places that can inspire hope. Becoming competent and compassionate healthcare professionals is a by product of unlocked leadership potential in our communities.

Scholarships & Loans

Rural Veterinary Practice Scholarship and Loan Forgivness Program: The Oklahoma Legislative and Executive branches passed HB 3196 to provide financial support to students pursuing a veterinary medicine degree at Oklahoma State University to practice in rural Oklahoma communities and receive training to meet the needs of livestock producers.
Loans for Disadvantaged Students (LDS) Program: As part of the Health Professions Loan Program, the LDS Program provides long-term, low interest rate loans to full-time, financially needy veterinary students from disadvantaged backgrounds, to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine. These funds can be used for educationally-related costs, including, but not limited to, general enrollment fees, tuition, room/board and books.
Health Professions Student Loan (HPSL): As part of the Health Professions Loan Program, the HPSL Program provides long-term, low interest rate loans to full-time, financially needy students to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine. These funds can be used for educationally-related costs, including, but not limited to, general enrollment fees, tuition, room/board and books.
