Mission Statement: Our mission is to advance the health of animals, people and the environment through inclusive and equitable education, research and services to the public.

Class-style: The majority of our classes take place in a traditional lecture and lab format. We offer clinical skills courses each term for the first two years of the program as well, providing students with hands-on experiences throughout all four years of the program.

Grading system: We utilize a traditional grading system for years one through three. We have a pass/fail grading system for the required rotations in year four, elective courses, and preceptorships.

Health & Wellness: OSU CCVM has a strong commitment to the health and wellbeing of our students. We have a full-time counselor on staff to meet with our students individually as well as provide wellness promotion activities and workshops. The SAVMA wellness committee is very active and regularly offers yoga sessions, healthy breakfasts, and visits from therapy dogs. Free tutoring is available to our students and there are many resources available on campus to insure food security and and other forms of support to students.

Diversity & Inclusion: The OSU CCVM community recognizes the value of a diverse student body. Applicants from diverse backgrounds often bring unique perspectives and enrich the veterinary educational experience as well as the profession. Therefore, the Admissions Committee seeks to accept applicants from a variety of ethnic, educational or social backgrounds that may be underrepresented in the veterinary profession. Each applicant is evaluated in terms of their stated background and professional goals in light of current and projected future needs of the veterinary profession. We have student chapters of Pride SVMC, Association of Asian Veterinary Medical Professionals, Latinx VMA, and Veterinary Students Advancing Diversity. Our Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Awareness (IDEA) Committee is comprised of students, faculty, and staff and is charged with providing educational opportunities to the College to broaden awareness and increase inclusivity.
