Curriculum Statement: The University of Bristol’s BVSc Veterinary Science: Accelerated Graduate Entry programme is a four-year veterinary degree equivalent to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). The first two years are delivered primarily through case-based, tutor-facilitated teaching and learning. This is a distinctive student-led approach which is complemented by lectures, seminars and practicals. In the bespoke first and second years of the course you will study the integrated structure and function of animals, principles of disease, clinical veterinary science and professional studies. The programme integrates with our five-year BVSc Veterinary Science degree in year two and you will further develop your skills in clinical sciences and professional studies. Themes running throughout the course instill the importance of professional skills, animal health and welfare, veterinary public health and evidence-based veterinary medicine, which underpin all veterinary disciplines.
Clinicals begin: The final year of the programme is devoted to on-site clinical rotations, both compulsory core-rotations and some optional elements, and off-site extra-mural placements.
