Transcript Requirements

Applicants will be expected to have taken every opportunity to gain relevant practical experience of livestock husbandry and handling animals. In addition, we would expect applicants to have shadowed a veterinary surgeon. We do not specify a required amount of work experience as it depends, to some extent, on the opportunities available to individual candidates. Experience in public facing roles/jobs can help candidates appreciate how to work with the general public which is a key skill for many upon graduation. Also experience gained in veterinary or medical laboratories can help candidates appreciate the scientific basis of Veterinary Medicine.

Letters Guidance Statement
We suggest having the following as letter writers: one from a veterinarian, one from an academic source, one from an employment source– but ultimately selecting recommenders with whom you are most comfortable – with at least one being from a veterinarian.
